1" Reinforced Low Slope (Wide Width) Canopy Kits
Kits include the FITTINGS only. The conduit frame piping is NOT included. Frame piping must be purchased separately. The main framework poles (Electrical Metallic Tubing - EMT) are sold in standardized 10' lengths at any major hardware store.
Canopy Fittings are made of galvanized steel with welded nuts and eye bolts for easy installation.
Instructions for assembly are included with all Canopy Kits.
1” Fittings pair with 1” EMT.
Actual Fitting Inside Diameter 1.255" (+/- .02")
1" Reinforced Low Slope (Wide Width) Kits come complete with all Roof Fittings. Reinforced Low Slope Roof Fittings have a 102-degree angle with a roof pitch of 2.5" rise per foot of run (2.5:12). Custom options include Size, Foot Pads, and Side Wall Fittings.
A Reinforced Low Slope (Wide Width) Roof Canopy is an excellent way to provide protection from sun and rain, especially when unilateral water drainage is desired. The reinforced roof allows for wider unobstructed widths without the need for center legs. This wide width slope style is great when you want to build with 1" Fittings/conduit but need a little more width than 10'. For example, a 14' width will accommodate a parked car with enough room to open both car doors without bumping into the canopy legs (a full-size SUV is 13' wide with both doors open). This reinforced slope style is ideal for carports when the unilateral drainage of a slope roof is desired but a little more width than 10' is needed.
Note of Caution
Using full length 10' poles to maximize the canopy's width to 20' is NOT recommended for this roof style. The heavy roof weight spread over such a wide width unsupported by center legs will increase your risk of pole failure/bowing of your canopy roof. For this reason, 14' is the maximum width we recommend for 1" diameter Fittings/1" conduit. Bar Braces will also prevent bowing of this wide width roof style.
If you need a 20' width, we recommend building with larger diameter Fittings/poles. In our experience, the minimum size for a 20' width is 1-1/2" Fittings and 1-1/4" conduit.
The use of Bar Braces is highly recommended for this canopy style (see picture for reference). Bar Braces will greatly strengthen and stabilize this canopy style, especially if your canopy is expected to endure years of outdoor exposure to the elements.
A Low Slope Roof pitch is not steep enough to allow for self-cleansing of snowfall like a High Peak Roof. For snow, a High Peak Roof is recommended. A popular example of Reinforced Low Slope Roof Canopies are carports, awnings and shade structures for porches/patios with rainwater being routed away from the house. Indications for a Slope Roof Canopy include but are not limited to, greenhouses, vendor booths, RV and boat carports, and general shade structures. Protective structural coverings to consider are polycarbonate panels, clear or colored tarps, canvas, vinyl, plastic film sheets, shade cloth, shade nets, chicken wire and corrugated metal, other. *Also sold separately.
Custom Options:
1. Size - Select your desired structure size indicated by roof square foot coverage. This Kit provides Fittings to space your Canopy poles every 10' down the length. 10' Frame Spacing is the industry standard. This economy spacing is ideal if minimal modifications of EMT poles is preferred (EMT come in standardized 10' lengths).
2. Foot Pads - For temporary, semi-permanent and permanent structures, Foot Pads provide stabilization and ground anchor points for your Canopy structure. The base of each Foot Pad Fitting has four pre-drilled holes. One in the center designed for rainwater drainage and three on the perimeter allowing anchor nails or hardware of your choice to secure your structure to the ground.
3. Side Wall Fittings - Add either 1 or 2 Side Walls. The Side Wall upgrade not only ties your Canopy structure legs together for added horizontal strength but will also provide an attachment point to fixate side covers. To purchase additional Side Wall Fittings beyond the standard upgrade options, search FOL and FOT, found in the "Shop Now" menu under “Canopy Fittings."
